A previously convicted resident of the Krasnodar Territory “swindled” Crimeans out of money. Internet fraudster detained

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A pensioner who had become a victim of fraud turned to the duty station of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs «Saksky» for help. A resident of the Saki district said that for the construction of a country house, she ordered building materials on one of the Internet sites and transferred more than 24 thousand rubles to the account specified by the “seller,” however, the goods were not delivered. As part of the ongoing investigation, criminal investigation officers identified a suspect in committing fraud — a previously convicted 23-year-old resident of the Krasnodar Territory.

A resident of Lipetsk also suffered from the actions of the attacker, who lost 30 thousand rubles in a similar scheme. The suspect admitted his guilt in committing two counts of fraud, saying that he spent the money received by deception for his own needs.

The investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» initiated criminal cases based on crimes under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). A preventive measure was chosen against the suspect in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place; he faces punishment ranging from a large fine to two years in prison— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

Police officers warn: when purchasing goods through advertisements on the Internet, be careful. If the seller requires a full or partial advance payment for the purchased goods to be transferred to an electronic account, think about how much you are willing to trust a stranger. Remember that when transferring money to strangers through anonymous payment systems, you have no guarantee of their return if the transaction does not take place. If you have become a victim of fraud, immediately report it to the police by calling 102. They will definitely help you.
