A suspect was detained in Sevastopol for illegal possession of marijuana on a large scale

Employees of the drug control department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Nakhimovsky district detained a local resident in whose apartment marijuana and seven hemp bushes were found.

Earlier, investigators received information that a 44-year-old man was storing prohibited substances at home. During the inspection, it was established that in his apartment the attacker created all the conditions for growing drug-containing plants: he installed two greenhouse boxes with the necessary lighting equipment and ventilation. The drug farmer planted the seeds in prepared pots with soil, after which he carefully cared for them. According to the suspect, he subsequently dried the collected parts of the plants and brewed them as tea for an analgesic effect.,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

As a result of a search at the attacker’s place of residence, equipment for growing drug-containing plants, seven hemp bushes, plant parts and seeds, as well as marijuana weighing more than 100 grams, which is a large size, were seized.

For illegal transactions with prohibited substances, a criminal case was initiated against the detainee under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years.
