During the holidays, 25 drunk drivers were spotted on the roads of Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol conducted preventive raids during the New Year holidays aimed at identifying drunk drivers. As reported by the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, traffic inspectors carried out enhanced control and regular patrols on the roads, carried out checks for alcohol and drug intoxication among drivers, and also informed road users about the consequences and unacceptability of drunk driving.

During their duty on holidays, State Traffic Inspectorate employees identified 25 drivers in a state of intoxication, including four of them who repeatedly drove vehicles while drunk.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds:

For driving a vehicle while intoxicated, the penalty is a fine in the amount of thirty thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive for a period of one and a half to two years. Repeated driving while intoxicated is subject to criminal liability under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for a fine of two hundred to three hundred thousand rubles, up to imprisonment for up to two years.

The Sevastopol police appeal to all road users with a request not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunk driving, to promptly report to the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road, or drive while drunk, by calling: 102 or 738 400, 738 401.
