In honor of Guide's Day, free excursions will be held in Sevastopol

On February 17, on the eve of World Guide Day (celebrated on February 21), 11 free excursions will be held in Sevastopol. According to Tourist portal of Crimea, visitors will be introduced to the historical center of the city, its heart and soul, and will be told the secrets of the underground Balaklava. We’ll tell you how to sign up and where (and at what time) the walks start.

This gift to citizens and guests is made by the Sevastopol Tourism Development Center together with partners and tour guides of local travel companies. Almost all day on February 17, free excursions will be held around the “white stone” and its surroundings.

At 10:00 from the park near the Central Library. L.N. Tolstoy starts the excursion “Architectural Symphony of the Central City Hill”. It will be conducted by an experienced guide Natalya Piskova.

Several historical walks will be conducted by library guides named after. L. N. Tolstoy.

At 10:00 from the intercity ticket office on General Zakharov Square you will go on the route “We are walking on the North side. Engineering beam.»

At 10:00 from the public transport stop “Hennerich Square” an educational walk “Walking on the Ship Side” will be organized for everyone.

At 10:00 those who come to the entrance to the Central City Library named after L.N. Tolstoy, they will learn a lot of interesting things about Ushakov Square and its surroundings.

If you are attracted by the secrets of underground Balaklava, at 11:00 come to the entrance to the Northern Fort (coordinates: 44.499751, 33.611042). The excursion will be led by Ilya Davydov, Chairman of the SROO for the Preservation of Historical Heritage «Grenadier». Participants are asked to wear comfortable shoes and bring flashlights.

At 11:00 from the May 1st Square at the monument to L. Ukrainka in Balaklava, another historical walk through the once secret territory will begin. Tour guide Anatoly Kotov invites you to do it. He will talk about different periods of life of the “fishing town”, which became a popular Crimean resort.

The second part of the excursions around Sevastopol will also continue at 11:00. The start will be given by guide Anna Kurasova. With it, from the Catherine Square of the hero city, which is located on Lenin Street, you will go to get acquainted in detail with the historical center of the “white stone”.

At 11:00 and 17:30, Olga Savitskaya will conduct fascinating walks “In the center with a native Sevastopol resident.” The beginning of the path is near the colonnade of the Count’s pier on Nakhimov Square.

At 12:00 the baton will be picked up by the guide of the Sevastopol Tourism Development Center, Karina Khmilyar. She will also be waiting for the participants of the walk on Nakhimov Square, near the monument to the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol, and then will introduce them to the city center, its heart and soul.

At 14:00, again from the square, only this time at the monument to Admiral Nakhimov, a group of people wishing to go on the excursion “To Sevastopol with Love” will form. It will be conducted by Lyudmila Sytnik.
