Sevastopol ninth-graders passed the final interview in the Russian language

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Today, ninth-graders all over Russia are taking their final interview in the Russian language. The interview is traditionally held on the second Wednesday of February, and participation is mandatory. During the test, the ability of 9th grade graduates to speak out on various topics, conduct a dialogue, expressively read a text and retell it is assessed. Ninth-graders take the final interview at their schools.

Successfully passing the final interview is one of the conditions for admission of 9th grade graduates to the state final certification, following which 9th graders will receive a certificate of basic general education. This year, 4,451 people were registered for the final interview in Sevastopol. Last year there were 4,800 participants, more than 98% of them received credit. We hope that this year the students will successfully complete the assignments and receive admission to the exams., — said I. O. Director of the Department of Education and Science of Sevastopol Maxim Krivonos.

The interview is graded on a pass/fail basis. The maximum number of points for completing all tasks of the final interview is 20. The participant will receive credit if he scores 10 or more points.

The interview takes place one-on-one. A student communicates with a teacher. The examiner evaluates the preparation of a ninth-grader. The most important thing for students is the ability to read correctly, express their thoughts and answer questions. The proposed texts for reading and retelling are dedicated to famous people: athletes, artists, public figures. During the retelling, the guys must use a quote from the proposed text. The expert evaluates speech literacy, reading technique, intonation, correct retelling, and communication skills with the teacher who asks questions. There is a friendly and comfortable atmosphere during the interview.— said Vladlena Pustovaya, a teacher of Russian language and literature, an expert at an interview at school No. 54.

The duration of the interview for each participant is no more than 16 minutes. For participants in the final interview with disabilities, disabled children and people with disabilities, the duration of the procedure can be increased to 30 minutes.

Ninth-graders who received a failure or did not appear for the final interview for valid reasons are re-admitted to the final interview at additional dates — March 13 and April 15. The students will know the results — pass or fail — immediately, and the exact number of points will be communicated to them within a few days.
