The court issued a verdict in a criminal case against 63 and 52-year-old residents of the Saki district. Two Crimeans were found guilty under Part 5 of Art. 33, part 1 art. 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (storage for the purpose of distribution and sale of obviously counterfeit bank notes of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
The trial established that in July 2023, the defendants agreed to engage in illegal activities to produce counterfeit banknotes. Counterfeiters used counterfeit bank notes from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in denominations of 2 thousand rubles to pay for purchases in stores in the region. The activities of the men were stopped by employees of the internal affairs bodies, counterfeit banknotes were withdrawn from illegal circulation— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The Razdolnensky District Court agreed with the opinion of the state prosecutor about the guilt of these citizens and, depending on the role of each of the attackers, sentenced a 63-year-old resident of the Saki district to 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security correctional colony, and his accomplice — 1 years and 6 months of suspended imprisonment, with a probationary period of 2 years. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
