Tonight the “Art Weekend with Volna: Art” starts in the resort village of Koktebel. Sea. Music». Guests will enjoy a rich program: an exhibition of artists, a fair of craftsmen, fashion shows from Crimean designers, training sessions on videography from bloggers, animation for children, jazz, gift drawings and much more.
Festive events to coincide with Village Day will be held at two locations — the public space “Sea Plus” (Lenin St., 144b) and the House-Museum of M.A. Voloshina (Morskaya St., 43), reports Tourist portal of Crimea.
The art weekend started on Friday, September 15, at 17:00 with the final exhibition of plein air art “Koktebel-2023”. Also this evening, the results of the XXI International Scientific and Creative Symposium “Voloshinsky September” will be summed up and a concert by the acoustic jazz-lounge duo WhiteSugarBand will be held.
Main events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. So, starting from 15:00, on the territory of the art space “Sea” there will be children’s animators, a fair of handicrafts from local artisans, an exhibition project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of gliding, as well as a traditional exhibition of paintings and graphics “Podzaborniki”. In addition, famous Crimean bloggers will gather in Koktebel and teach everyone how to make wow videos about the peninsula.
An unusual event will take place in the courtyard of the Voloshin House Museum: for the first time, local artists will paint a picture in real time as a gift to the village. Also announced here is a plein air for children “Voloshin’s heirs paint Koktebel.” And those gathered will also be impressed by the fashion show “Modern Voloshin Wrappers.”
In addition, the program includes morning beach yoga and a SUP swim, a skit party with romances, practical jokes and hoaxes from the Voloshin era, activities from the youth project “Street 82”: a boxing cup, a skate contest, streetball, master classes in breaking and hip -hopu, environmental master classes and musical ethnic jam.
The musical block of the art weekend will be presented by such popular jazz groups as jazz trio “A3”, Darinaband, Mary D Jazz Band, BlackSeaBlues. The headliner will be the famous Russian virtuoso saxophonist, composer, art director of the international jazz festival Koktebel Jazz Party Sergei Golovnya. Both his own compositions and his own arrangements of world hits will be performed on the main stage.
The events will remind you of the creative potential of Koktebel, which, thanks to Maximilian Voloshin, was discovered by Alexei Tolstoy, Valery Bryusov, Nikolai Gumilyov, Osip Mandelstam, Marina Tsvetaeva and many other classics of Russian literature. The day of the village is officially fixed on September 12 — when 120 years ago Voloshin acquired a plot of land here. This date of the foundation of the House of the Poet is considered the beginning of the spiritual and creative formation of Koktebel.
