Rice will be grown again in Crimea. In what areas?

To date, 8 enterprises of the Republic of Crimea have expressed their readiness to sow rice.

The declared sowing area at the moment in the republic is hectares. Today, with the farmers who expressed a desire to grow rice, we discussed the initial tasks for the possibility of starting the sowing campaign. The issues of restoration of the irrigation system, the conditions of supply and the formation of the cost of water are topical today. One of the most pressing issues was the need for state financial support in terms of restoring reclamation equipment and irrigation systems. This year, we need to resolve all emerging issues as much as possible in order to put into circulation more areas under this crop next year , — quotes the press service of the Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alime Zaredinov.

Farmers from Razdolnensky, Krasnoperekopsky and Nizhnegorsky districts are planning to grow rice this year. The declared sowing area is hectares.

Recall that earlier the Acting Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea announced that the launch of the North Crimean Canal would give impetus to the dynamic development of the agro-industrial complex. The Dnieper water will allow to revive the crops of moisture-dependent crops, increase the production of vegetables, effectively develop the fishery, livestock industries, and, accordingly, the food industry.
