This year Sevastopol will celebrate the Day of the Navy 31 in July. This day will begin with a prayer service in the Vladimir Cathedral — the tomb of the admirals. After that, wreaths and flowers will traditionally be laid at the Memorial Wall in honor of the heroic defense of Sevastopol 1941-1942 years. A solemn meeting of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet and the laying of wreaths on the water at the place of military honors will take place at the Grafskaya pier. In addition, on this day, the patrol boat of the Crimean naval base will be given the honorary name «Captain 1st Rank Andrey Paly».
Most of the events this year are held at the Grafskaya Pier. This is a solemn meeting of the commander, who will take part in the bypass of the ships, and the assignment of the name of Andrey Paliy to the boat. At the same time, there will be no parade formation of ships, all events on Grafskaya will be of a protocol nature. We invite Sevastopol residents in the evening to the festive fireworks , — the press service of the Black Sea Fleet reported.
In addition, on the Day of the Navy, residents and guests of the city will be able to attend high diving competitions.
The Day of the Navy will end with a festive artillery salute and fireworks in the Sevastopol Bay — it will run from 22: 00 to : 30.
