Still, the Crimean state traffic inspectors are a rock. In Yalta they were offered a “super bribe” of half a million
CrimeaPRESS reports:
They didn’t take it.
In Yalta, inspectors of the State Traffic Inspectorate refused a bribe of 500 thousand rubles, which a citizen tried to transfer for not holding him accountable for driving while intoxicated.
On November 23, in the evening, traffic police inspectors in the village of Gurzuf (Big Yalta) on the embankment stopped a Lexus car driven by a local resident, born in 1964, who was driving the vehicle with signs of intoxication. The driver was asked to undergo a medical examination. However, before entering the medical organization, the man suggested that the police resolve the issue differently, presenting cash in the amount of 500 thousand rubles as a bribe for not bringing him to justice.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The citizen was repeatedly warned by the police about criminal liability for giving a bribe, but did not stop his intentions. Traffic police inspectors reported the incident to the duty station of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Yalta. An investigative team was called to the scene.
According to the medical examination report, the amount of ethyl alcohol in the citizen’s body was 0.243 milligrams per liter of exhaled air, which is twice the norm.
Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate drew up a protocol regarding the driver regarding an administrative offense under Part 1 of Article 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a driver who is intoxicated, if such actions do not contain a criminal offense),” the police clarified.
The materials collected by the police officers will be transferred to the Investigative Committee for making an appropriate procedural decision.
