The Academy of Choreography in Sevastopol was visited by her acting director. Rector Sergei Polunin

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Acting Rector of the Sevastopol Academy of Choreography, Sergei Polunin, during his next visit to Sevastopol, visited the construction site at Cape Khrustalny and inquired about the progress of the construction of the educational institution. As you know, notes «Sevastopolskaya Gazeta», the commissioning of the academy should take place at the end 2023 of the year, and this period remains unchanged. Recall that we are talking about six block sections, in which they plan to place a boarding school for students, a library, classes for studying general subjects, a swimming pool, sports halls, an educational theater, as well as ballet halls: ten small ones, area 130-140 sq.m each and six large areas -270 sq.m.

At present, rough finishing works are being completed at the academy, and one can already imagine roughly how the finished building will look like. Sergei Polunin was clearly impressed by what he saw. And although he immediately said that it was difficult for him to evaluate technical and constructive solutions, he clearly liked the panoramic windows in the classes for choreography. Representatives of the building design company, including Mohammed Nasser, agreed with him. The latter noted that the builders are performing work in strict accordance with the project and showed Sergei Polunin another interesting solution — an exploitable roof over one of the block sections. There, in the future, according to the project, a green recreation area will be arranged. All this, according to Sergei Polunin, will inspire future dancers , — comment on the visit of the acting. rector of the Sevastopol Academy of Choreography journalists «SG».

He also said that during his years of study, he had to study in halls located in the basement, which did not particularly contribute to the creative process. Everything will be completely different at the Sevastopol Choreographic Academy.

When I was studying, I spent many years underground, sometimes we had locker rooms in the basement, sometimes we had study rooms. Sometimes there were good rooms, but definitely without a sea view. Therefore, when a person lives and develops here, it will enrich him. When I danced at the Royal Ballet (in London — Approx.ed), we had one room overlooking the city, where I looked at the beautiful architecture. Here, the children will look at the waves and the seagulls, and this, I think, will awaken the imagination not only of them, but of the directors and choreographers , — says Sergei Polunin.
