Dear children, it is very important to pay tribute to the memory of those who liberated our native land. Today, as part of the traditional action «Immortal Regiment», you came to school with portraits of your relatives, and the windows of educational institutions are decorated with portraits of heroes and the main symbols of the Great Victory— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Igor Mikheev.
Years will pass, more than one generation will change, but the memory of the feat of our great-grandfathers will remain in the hearts of the descendants. Every Russian family has its own hero.
My great-grandfather Iosif Ivanovich Fedulov during the First World War was awarded such awards as the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner. He was wounded near the city of Stanislav, now Ivano-Frankivsk. Great-grandfather served in the first cavalry army, and Voroshilov himself handed him an engraved saber, which to this day, along with medals, is kept in our family. During the Great Patriotic War, he was a people’s commissar, received conscripts, trained them and was engaged in their ideological education. My family is proud of our hero. My father told me a lot about my great-grandfather. I believe that in order for people to remember their history, and for the state and its people to continue to live, such events are simply necessary, — notes a graduate of the school Matvey Fedulov.
My great-grandfather Karpenko Yakov Stepanovich helped the Red Army and partisans as a teenager. He dug trenches, brought shells. Passed the Red Arc, in 1945 he was sent to the Far East, participated in the Soviet-Japanese War. Awarded with medals for bravery. My mother told me about my great-grandfather, and my grandmother told her about it. We keep the story of our hero, we remember and are proud. We live under peaceful blue skies and it is thanks to the people who fought for our land. History cannot be forgotten— said a 5th grade student Elizaveta Gridneva.
Sevastopol schoolchildren, together with the whole country, take part in the all-Russian campaigns «Windows of Victory», «My Hero», «Songs of Victory», «Victory Classics», «Garden of Memory», «St. George’s Ribbon».
