The “Local History Gatherings” project starts in Sevastopol
Participants will be shown rare retro photos of the city and told about disappeared sights.
This coming weekend, on February 3 and 4, a party for the project “Local History Gatherings” will take place in Sevastopol. The organizers invite everyone who is interested in the architecture of the hero city. A fascinating excursion into the past will be decorated with rare photos, engravings and forgotten details of the former appearance of Sevastopol from historian Stepan Samoshin, reports Tourist portal of Crimea.
This local history get-together bears the code name «Excavator».
Participants will find themselves in a pleasant atmosphere, with delicious food and in the company of the founder of the “Architecture of Sevastopol” community, historian Stepan Samoshin. He will talk about aqueducts and palaces, bazaars and trams of Sevastopol, disappeared churches and monuments. Guests will see more than 80 exclusive postcards and drawings — from the time of Catherine II to the 1930s. The historian will comment in detail on what is depicted on them, as well as on maps and photos.— clarified in the community Architecture of Sevastopol.
