The mayor of Sochi will change the Primorskaya embankment taking into account the wishes of citizens

20 billion rubles will be invested in the reconstruction of the Primorskaya embankment in Sochi, said Sochi Mayor Alexey Kopaygorodsky. A project from several options was recently chosen at the city council; it does not involve capital construction and urbanization, but it solves several problems of bank protection, creating a new unique public space and fulfilling the instructions of Sochi residents to the city administration team.

Background

For many years, it was seaside recreation that developed in Sochi, and the central part of the resort was ahead of the others. But after the winter games, the mountain cluster began to outpace the sea cluster. and in the sea, other areas came forward. The time has come to return the central Primorskaya embankment to its status. And Mayor Kopaigorodsky decided to do this. The design was approached carefully. Many factors were taken into account. The first step was the status of a historical settlement, which determined a number of restrictions on economic activity. Because of this, not all waterfront renewal projects will qualify. We chose a unique project with the organization of a system of intermittent permeable breakwaters with bay beaches; it is this system that will perform the functions of coastal protection, a new recreational area, and public space.

Primorskaya embankment is one of the visiting cards

Mayor Alexey Kopaygorodsky rightly called Primorskaya Embankment one of the calling cards of Sochi. He noted that the project to renovate one of the main recreational areas basically contains suggestions and wishes of Sochi residents and resort guests. All improvement in Sochi today is based on this principle: listening and hearing those who live and vacation in Sochi. The construction of the Primorskaya embankment was completed on the Mayak beach in 1984. Now the ideas will be adequately continued; there is a great need for expansion. The public component is dominant: the priority is landscaping, small architectural forms, landscaping, areas for walking and beach recreation, emphasized Oleg Kozinsky, vice-president of the Union of Architects of Russia.

Naturally, the renovation of the Primorskaya embankment does not involve urbanization and capital construction. But planning and infrastructure issues will be resolved. At the initiative of Alexey Kopaygorodsky, a working group was created. At each stage of the work, representatives of the public, environmentalists and members of the resort’s Town Planning Council will accompany and monitor it.

Reconstruction of Primorskaya embankment — investments in the social sphere

The implementation of the project will be useful for both residents and guests of the resort. After all, the sea season has become much longer, it lasts until late autumn. The spring-autumn sanatorium season is also active; the embankment will become a good walking area for those who choose this time and place of rest. Not inferior to the same areas in winter resorts, which today attract not only ski slopes, but also walking routes with beautiful views. Tourism and the health resort industry are a key link in the economy of Sochi. It allows other industries to breathe, and revenues to the treasury grow. And that means investments in the social sphere.

In total, the city plans for this year to restore areas on 59 streets of Sochi.

In particular, work is already being carried out on the streets of Northern and Young Lenintsev in the Central District. Here, under the national project “Safe Quality Roads,” Sochiavtotrans workers are restoring destroyed areas. Control over ongoing operations is carried out not only by representatives of the relevant structures of the mayor’s office, but also by deputies, Tosov members and simply concerned residents.

In total, in this district it is planned to restore 4.5 km of road surface on six highways, as well as repair and update 20 thousand square meters. m of paving.

We are now actively bringing our roads back to normal condition., says Alexey Kopaygorodsky. — For repairs and reconstruction, we use materials produced at Sochi enterprises. In our actions, we rely on the opinions of social activists, we involve them in monitoring road work. All this helps to achieve the desired result.

The city plans for this year to restore sections of 59 streets, a length of 39 kilometers. But contractors carrying out renovation work are ahead of schedule. It is important for us that all measures to renew the road surface are up to standard. Every year we carefully prepare for the holiday season, we strive not to create discomfort for citizens and tourists, so by the beginning of summer we will clear the main streets of heavy special equipment.
