The Supreme Court of Crimea rendered a verdict in a criminal case of preparation for sabotage

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Supreme Court of Crimea issued a verdict in a criminal case against a resident of the region. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 30, part 1 art. 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for sabotage), Art. 281.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inducement, recruitment and other involvement of a person in the commission of a crime under Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), paragraph “c” of Part 3 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation and carrying of explosive devices).

The court established that the defendant collaborated with the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, on behalf of whose employees he photographed one of the life support facilities of the population in order to undermine it. The man tried to involve an acquaintance in his illegal activities, but was refused. Subsequently, acting on the instructions of employees of the Ukrainian intelligence department, he removed a homemade explosive device from the cache, which he kept in his apartment. His actions were stopped by law enforcement officials— the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea reported details.

The court, agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 12 years in prison, with the first 2 years to be served in prison and the remaining term in a maximum security correctional colony. The convict was also given a fine of 400 thousand rubles.
