In Sevastopol, police patrol officers detained a man suspected of stealing an electric scooter and a portable speaker. As the city Department of Internal Affairs clarified, as a result of the illegal activities of the attacker, the victim was caused material damage in the amount of more than 30 thousand rubles.
It was previously established that a 29-year-old local resident left his electric scooter on the street unattended along with a music speaker in the trunk and went shopping at the supermarket. In his absence, a passerby who was nearby noticed the SIM, which was not equipped with an anti-theft cable, and, deciding that it belonged to no one, calmly drove off to his home in it. Having discovered the absence of a two-wheeled device at the same place, the victim contacted the police.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
During the events, employees of a separate company of the PPSP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district detained a 31-year-old suspect. He confessed to his crime and voluntarily handed over the stolen property to law enforcement officers. A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”), he faces up to five years in prison.
