Yalta dog Mukhtar is nominated for the award of the competition “My affectionate and necessary animal”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
This week, electronic voting for participants in the “My Affectionate and Necessary Animal” competition began; Yalta’s Hachiko is among the contenders.
The story of Yalta Hachiko is winning more and more hearts — the dog Mukhtar is posthumously nominated for the “My Tender and Necessary Animal” award. 5 years ago it was established in Zelenogradsk, Kaliningrad region and celebrates the truly human actions of our little brothers. Among the contenders for the award are tailed and feathered animals from all over the world.,” the press service quotes the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko.
The head of administration added that Mukhtar for many has become a real symbol of loyalty and devotion: his first owner was taken by the sea and for many years the dog came to the shore and peered into the horizon.
He continued to come ashore even after he accepted the care of his new owner, a street musician, whom he sang along to on the embankment. Last year Mukhtar died,” noted Yanina Pavlenko.
The famous Russian sculptor, author of monuments to many historical figures, Alexander Rukavishnikov, decided to give the city a cultural composition in memory of this history. The sculpture is planned to be installed on the embankment, where Yalta residents and guests of the city so often saw Mukhtar.
