CrimeaPRESS reports:

The 2nd shift “Time of your choice” ended with solemn ceremonies on the fire pits of the Artek children’s camps. Almost two thousand Artek residents took part in events dedicated to the Year of the Family, Defender of the Fatherland Day, the 10th anniversary of the Reunification of Crimea with Russia and the World Youth Festival. Schoolchildren take with them the addresses of friends, vivid impressions, new knowledge and a dear coal from the Artek fire. Among the shift participants are 506 children from the Southern Federal District, including 140 children from the Republic of Crimea.

During the shift, the guys showed leadership qualities and gained an understanding of the importance of traditional spiritual and moral family values. Artek residents gathered at the fire pits of the Center’s nine children’s camps to say their warmest farewell words to each other and take stock.

During the shift, the guys became part of the big Artek family, demonstrated that they can overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, conquer all heights.

According to tradition, the main award of the children’s center was presented — the sign of public recognition «Star of Artek». Based on the results of the 2nd shift in 2024, for high personal achievements, successful participation in camp programs, respect of peers and the Artek community, the following became “Stars of Artek”: Margarita Leontyeva, Kirov region, Kirov (d/l “Lazurny”); Milana Tsybina, Belgorod region, Razumnoye settlement (d/l «Kiparisny»); Timofey Kuznetsov, Sverdlovsk region, Kamyshlov (d/l «Khrustalny»; Kantemir Karaev, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Nalchik (d/l «Yantarny»; Ruslan Abdullaev, Republic of Crimea, Dzhankoy (d/l “Morskoy”); Maxim Babich, Belgorod region, Belgorod (d/l “Rechnoy”).

Ruslan Abdullaev from Dzhankoy (Republic of Crimea) is fifteen years old. On his third trip to Artek, he ended up in the Morskoy children’s camp:

He received a ticket for his achievements. During this shift, I learned to play the DJ console, which helped me a lot in the battle, because our squad took first place. I was in a professional DJ squad, and I think this is the best profile! As part of the “Artek Star” competition, I showed an unusual style of playing the guitar — fingerstyle. I think that what helped me win was my self-confidence, the ability to work in public and talk about my favorite business with passion. Of course, what I remember most about my shift was the battle of the DJs. During this shift, Artek became my second home. I wish Artek residents to be themselves, get to know everyone and find new friends,” Ruslan noted.

At the farewell party, Artek residents recalled the most striking events of the shift, which reflected such trends as patriotism, strong family, unity of the peoples of Russia, collectivism and other values.

Artek residents took part in a teleconference that united the country’s largest children’s centers and the World Youth Festival. Pupils of the children’s center noted that VFM and Artek have in common an atmosphere of friendship, happiness and joy! The guys told their peers and guests about the events of the shift and their impressions of the Land of Childhood. Also, film screenings, art exhibitions, holiday programs, a gastro festival, and creative workshops were dedicated to the Festival in Artek, which helped schoolchildren to feel their involvement in the grandiose youth movement.

On Defender of the Fatherland Day, a competition of artistic and research projects “Guarding the Fatherland” and a military-historical game “Zarnitsa” were held, and on Special Operations Forces Day, “Lessons of Courage” and meetings with participants of the North Military District took place.

The themed Motherland Day became unforgettable. Artek residents took part in the intellectual game “Know Our People!”, the intellectual and sports game “Sports Pride of Russia”, the City of Masters, and watched the film “Crimea. The path to the homeland.» And the children who reached the age of 14 joined the All-Russian action “We are Citizens of Russia” and received their first passports.

During the 2nd shift, events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia began. 10 years ago, the absolute majority of residents of Crimea and Sevastopol voted in a referendum for reunification with Russia. Artek residents learned about how the history of the “Crimean Spring” was made at a meeting with eyewitnesses of the events, representatives of the Popular Front.” More than 1,700 children and counselors from all regions of Russia gathered for the “10 Years at Home” flash mob. Together, Artek residents built inscriptions dedicated to the anniversary of the return of Crimea to its native harbor. The area of the composition was almost 2,000 square meters.

The farewell ceremony ended with a touching Artek tradition: the boys gave the girls roses as a sign of friendship. The guys promised their new friends to be worthy of the title of Artek member and to preserve the friendship gained in the Land of Childhood.
