Important: the tax rate for the tourism sector has been reduced in Sevastopol

The Legislative Assembly adopted the regional law dated June 27, 2023 No. 768-ZS “On Amendments to Article 2 of the Law of the City of Sevastopol dated February 3, 2015 No. 110-ZS “On Tax Rates for Certain Taxes”, according to which the rates for the simplified taxation system were reduced (STS) for the tourism sector: «income» — 1% and «income minus expenses» — 5%. The new rates will apply throughout the entire tax period of 2023.

The exemption applies to ten OKVED, including various types of activities, such as the activities of maritime passenger transport, the provision of places for temporary residence, restaurants and cafes. Also, the rates will be reduced for enterprises engaged in the production of folk art crafts, trade in souvenirs, film and video production. The measure will also cover travel agencies, sanatorium organizations— noted in the press service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in Sevastopol.

For those taxpayers who, according to the results of 3 months of 2023, advance payments under the simplified tax system were calculated for payment, these accruals may be reduced due to a decrease in the tax rate. To recalculate the advance payment, it is necessary to send a new tax notice to the tax authority only in relation to the obligation for which it is necessary to change the amount, that is, indicate the current amount of the advance. At the same time, a new notification is provided with the same details of the checkpoint, KBK, OKTMO, of the reporting period, and only the amount of calculated advance payments under the simplified tax system changes. It is most convenient to submit a notification of calculated amounts of taxes, advance payments of taxes, fees, insurance premiums in electronic form via telecommunication channels using an enhanced qualified electronic signature or through the Internet services «Personal Account of an Individual Entrepreneur» and «Personal Account of a Legal Entity».
