In Crimea they intend to restore an 8th century church
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The State Construction Expertise of the Republic of Crimea issued a positive conclusion based on the results of consideration of the project for repair and restoration work on a cultural heritage site of federal significance — the Church of John the Baptist in Kerch. The expert organization is connected to the Unified Digital Expertise Platform (UDEP).
The Church of John the Baptist is located in the very center of the city of Kerch and is considered one of the oldest operating Christian churches not only on the Crimean peninsula, but also in the CIS countries. It was built in the 8th century in the traditions of Byzantine architecture. The church was damaged by the rains of 2021 and required reconstruction.
The project, approved by experts, provides for the strengthening of load-bearing structures and foundations and the installation of a drainage system. In addition to the restoration of the surviving architectural and structural elements from the period of the temple’s creation, it is planned to restore its parts destroyed during the Soviet years. They are going to expand the boundaries of the church, and a utility building will appear not far from it.*
The developer is the State Autonomous Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Directorate for Centralized Maintenance and Development of Cultural Institutions.”
Designer — PF-Grado LLC.
Examination data objects are placed in the GIS USRZ, the operator of which is Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
