A total of 22 paintings by eight authors are presented. All works are directly related to the Great Patriotic War or a special military operation.

These topics require more than just professionalism. They must be felt. Therefore, there are few authors who take on them. I see strong emotions in every work. This is both tragedy and joy of renewal, restoration after the Victory, – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Honored Artist of Sevastopol Sergei Berlov.

The famous Sevastopol artist Varvara Grishchenko brought to the exhibition the work of her son Roman Grishchenko “Requiem. Dedicated to the defenders of Sevastopol.» The 41-year-old artist himself has been serving his homeland in the Northern Military District zone for a year and a half.

He, like his father, Ivan Mikhailovich, always wrote on military topics. The history of Sevastopol and its defense is very significant for him– notes Varvara Pavlovna.

Evgenia Lyubarskaya’s painting “Defenders” is a portrait of the hero-volunteer of the Northern Military District Dmitry Cherepkov. In his arms he holds a 10-year-old boy, a resident of the destroyed village of Privolye.

This was written under the impression of the stories of our soldiers and reportage photographs. We support our guys and empathize. And I was immediately struck by Dmitry’s words, how they helped the residents with food and water, how they were expected and greeted with joy in the liberated territoriessays Evgenia.

You can see the exhibition until May 18 in the foyer of the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Arts at st. Lenina, 25. There is a pass regime on the territory of the center of culture and arts: entry with an event ticket, pass or identification document.
