In Sevastopol, in two days, there were more than three victims of cyber fraudsters

In two days, three local residents aged 42, and suffered from the illegal activities of cyber fraudsters years.

It was established that in the daytime, unknown people called the victims on their phones, introduced themselves as employees of the service of a regional commercial bank and, under the pretext of protecting a bank account, in two cases convinced them to install the AnyDesk application on mobile phones, designed for remote access, and in In one case, provide full bank card details. Having fulfilled the requirements dictated by the attackers, the men lost all their savings in total more than 150 thousand rubles , — said the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

Based on these facts, criminal cases were initiated under article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. Operatives of the criminal investigation department carry out activities aimed at searching for and detaining remote scammers.

In connection with these incidents, the police of Sevastopol once again reminds residents and guests of the city: calls about alleged problems with a bank account come exclusively from remote scammers, regardless of who the strangers appear to be and what troubles they threaten. Their only goal is to convince you in any way that there is a risk of losing your savings and to force you to follow instructions under dictation in order to steal money.

If you receive such a call, end the conversation and do not answer calls from strangers. This is the only way you save your money. Be sure to tell your family and friends about the precautions, especially elderly relatives. Be reasonable and do not fall for the tricks of scammers!
