Pensioners of Sevastopol began to study financial literacy in libraries

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The library system of the city of Sevastopol has launched online classes on financial education for the older generation of citizens. The organizer of the project is the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. In remote mode, students will learn how to use banking services safely and efficiently, choose financial instruments, use modern online technologies and protect themselves from fraudsters.

The first broadcast took place on April 4 at the branch-library No. 6. More than forty pensioners attended a 45-minute webinar on how to make financially literate decisions, choose financial products and services, and use modern online technologies. Interaction with the lecturer was in real time: Sevastopol residents asked clarifying questions, received live answers, and completed an interactive survey.

The project was launched under an agreement between the Sevastopol Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the State Budgetary Institution of Culture «Regional Information and Library System» in Sevastopol.

Pensioners are most often spoken of as responsible and thrifty people. They try to pay utility bills on time, they usually have savings. But financial products and services are becoming more and more difficult to understand. Classes specially adapted for the older generation provide an opportunity to increase the level of knowledge, to understand the essence of new financial products— quotes the press service of the manager of the Branch for the city of Sevastopol of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bezhan.

You can connect to webinars at a convenient time by selecting it according to the schedule on site (this can be done both as a group on the basis of the organization, and individually from home), and after the lecture, send feedback and receive a certificate of participation.

Online financial literacy classes for the older generation are held in all regions of the Russian Federation. Their goal is to raise the level of financial education for pensioners, to teach them how to work with modern payment services and technologies, and to form the basic principles and rules for making decisions on the use of financial products and services.
