Schoolchildren and adults from Sevastopol took part in the semi-finals of the competitions «League of Lecturers» and «School League of Lecturers»

From April 6 to 8, Sochi hosted the semi-final stage of the League of Lecturers and the School League of Lecturers competitions organized by the Russian society Znanie. Among the representatives of the regions of the Southern Federal District, who delivered lectures in the city studio of the Russian Society «Knowledge», there were five residents of Sevastopol. The audience has already rated the participants, and the results of the semi-finals will be announced in April. The semi-finals in Sochi brought together participants from Krasnodar, Sochi, Sevastopol, Maykop, Rostov-on-Don, Armavir, Novorossiysk, Volgograd, Frolovo, Berdyansk. The semi-finalists and spectators were greeted by officials. A welcoming telegram from the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Ustinov was read by the host of the event Artyom Gribkov:

Dear friends! I cordially welcome you to the district stage of the competition «League of Lecturers»! Knowledge is the absolute value of our time. However, in reality, unfortunately, scientific knowledge is not of interest to every person. Meanwhile, as Marina Tsvetaeva wrote, sin is not in darkness, but in the unwillingness of light. It is talentLively lecturers, educators, real masters of the word can arouse interest in the process of cognition, conveying in an accessible and interesting form to the widest range of people ideas about the most complex fundamental and applied problems. Creation is modernand an effective system of education and popularization of science is, of course, one of the most important state tasks. After all, if the desire for knowledge does not become a need for every member of society, then the intellectual potential of the country is gradually depleted.

The topics chosen by the residents of Sevastopol for their semi-final performances were very diverse. The search for a “dream job” was highlighted in her lectures by business coach Olga Sergeeva. Mentor of entrepreneurs Iren Andrutskaya shared the rules of public speaking and self-presentation. Nadezhda Katamadze, Senior Lecturer at the Department of History of the Sevastopol Branch of Moscow State University, spoke about the diaries of Emperor Nicholas II.

The performances of the contenders for the title of the best young lecturer were no less serious and well prepared. Egor Enkin, a student of school No. 54 from Sevastopol, is seriously interested in medicine and plans to connect his professional future with the field of health care. He made a lecture on a common and dangerous disease — hepatitis, explaining the mechanism of the occurrence of this disease, its consequences and ways to stop them. Egor brought demonstration materials to the studio — insulin syringes, which diabetics cannot do without, glucometers and test strips that help monitor blood sugar levels.

Another participant, Anna Vorontsova, who also studies at Sevastopol School No. 54, in her lecture turned to the multifaceted personality of the great Russian humanist writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. She revealed his views on the theater, writing, relationships with people, and reminded the audience of the immortal Chekhov phrase: “A person must work, work hard, no matter who he is, and this alone is the meaning and purpose of his life, his happiness, his enthusiasm.»

Following the results of the semi-finals, 100 participants of the League of Lecturers and 50 participants of the School League of Lecturers will advance to the final, where they will perform at the venues of the country’s leading universities. The winners will enter the pool of lecturers of the Russian society «Knowledge» and will participate in its events.
