Sevastopol: all participants of the special operation will be able to receive the status of a combat veteran

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Deputy Governor Alexander Kulagin spoke about measures to support the Sevastopol participants in the special operation today during a live broadcast. The broadcast took place in the Government group on the VKontakte social network.

I would like to remind you of the mission and task of the law on supporting the participants of the NWO: both contracted servicemen, and mobilized, and volunteers — they will all receive the federal title of combat veteran. The State Duma, on the initiative of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation, adopted a number of laws that change the fifth federal law on veterans, which spells out social support measures for participants in a special operation. The task of our regional law is, first of all, to provide social support measures for the participants of the SVO until the moment they become federal beneficiaries , the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Alexander Kulagin.

He noted that a deep analysis of the practice of supporting fighters was carried out and a number of measures were developed that are not provided for by federal legislation.

Regardless of whether the status of a veteran of military operations will be, social support measures for a participant in the SVO and his family will be provided by the subject law — this, first of all, concerns free travel, free legal assistance, providing children with rest health improvement, free meals in schools and a number of other measures. Of course, I cannot but mention the governor’s initiative regarding the allocation of land plots — this issue has been worked out, it is included in the law, and as soon as the law enters into force, the procedure for providing these support measures will be determined, and all these measures can be fully implemented. apply , — emphasizes the vice-governor.

Support for people with disabilities was also discussed during the live broadcast.

Of course, every year we try to expand opportunities for people with disabilities in all areas — both education and healthcare. Every new or renovated facility provides an accessible environment. We will definitely involve public organizations of people with disabilities for this, who advise, act as experts on this issue , notes Alexander Kulagin.

The Deputy Governor added that in 26 the year in Sevastopol, documents were adopted that allow adapting the premises in which people with limited mobility live for their freer movement.

This is not very simple, since we most often talk about houses of the old stock, but this year 26 acts of inspection of such premises have already been drawn up, and now the commission is engaged in economic justification — what can be done in the premises, what cannot be done, how much it will cost. Next year, we plan to actively engage in the adaptation of these residential premises , — says the vice-governor.

In addition, Alexander Kulagin drew attention to changes in the field of rehabilitation — this year federal funding has been allocated in the amount of about 70 million rubles. In the former maternity hospital on Gagarin Avenue, a department of medical rehabilitation has appeared, equipped with modern equipment, where residents of the city can receive stationary assistance. In addition, equipment for children’s rehabilitation was purchased. Next year it is planned to continue and expand this work.
