Sevastopol street theater «Soft Sign» received two awards from the festival «Closed ShowZ»

13 July in Sevastopol summed up the results of the XV City Festival of small theatrical forms «Closed PokaZ-2022». At the awards ceremony, it became known that the first professional street theater in Sevastopol «Soft Sign» — a participant in the grant competition of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives — won in two categories at once. So, the production of «The Deer King» directed by Nail Safin was named the best performance, and Maxim Beletsky was awarded the diploma for the best male role for the roles of Truffaldino, Durandarte and Cigolotti in the same performance.

«Closed PokaZ» was held in Sevastopol for 06 times. In the anniversary season of the festival, the performances of 9 theaters fought for victory: the street theater «Soft Sign», «Psycho Del Art», «Play», «We are barefoot», the dance theater named after Elizarov, the Sevastopol Youth Theater, the theater named after Lunacharsky, the media studio «Attic «and the theater named after Lavrenyov.

The victory in two nominations of the festival «Closed PokaZ» is the first significant award for the street theater «Soft Sign» , — says the head of the theater Valery Aleksandrin. – When the “Soft Sign” was still a mobile interactive theater, it also received awards from city festivals. I am happy that we were able to continue such a wonderful tradition. And it was doubly pleasant to see how our artists received diplomas from the hands of Oleg Fleer, Honored Artist of Ukraine, with whom I worked on the same stage for many years and whom I respect immensely.

«The Deer King» is a performance in the genre of the traditional Italian comedy Del’arte, staged by director Nail Safin. This production is one of the brightest in our repertoire. The street theater «Soft Sign» is developing, its performances are improving and participation in such festivals as Closed PokaZ» makes it possible to raise the bar of our creativity. The awards received are a pleasure for the whole team, it is very nice when the professional community, represented by the jury, recognizes the quality of work. This gives us an incentive to move on and develop!

Separately, I would like to note the work of Maxim Beletsky, who received the prize for «Best Actor». He is truly an amazing and talented artist. The performances in which he played before he became an artist of our street theater were winners of the famous theater award «Golden Mask».

By the way, residents and guests of Sevastopol will be able to enjoy the performances of the street theater «Soft Sign» in August. So, August 6 at 06: 00 in the Tolstoy Yard, the artists will show the production of Barrier, which started the theatre’s career this season.
