From November 30 to December 3 at the site of the center for digital education for children “IT-cube. Gagarin» will host the International Hackathon «About Design».
This year the event will take place for the third time. The geography of the hackathon is more than 35 cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Voronezh, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Lipetsk, Magadan, Yaroslavl, Tolyatti, Tomsk, Syktyvkar, Vladivostok, Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar, etc.). “About Design” will be held in an online-distance format and will include 6 main areas (Web design, Industrial design, Design, 3D, Graphic design, Illustration) and the nomination-exhibition “Your view”. Over 160 applications were submitted for participation in the main directions; more than 110 works were submitted for the “Your View” competitionsay the event organizers.
The hackathon has 3 age categories: 5-11 years old, 11-18 years old and over 18 years old.
The jury will be headed by Vadim Bunkov, general producer of the Sreda festival of new design, graphic designer and art director of the Vad Bunkoff Design studio.
The general sponsor of the hackathon is cultural space «Third place». This is a unique project at the intersection of historical heritage and modern culture, located in St. Petersburg in the historical Guryev-Naryshkin mansion of the mid-19th century. Today, the space is a center for contemporary art, combining exhibition halls and an NFT platform, a lecture hall, a cinema hall, as well as a collection of works by Russian artists.
