A drunk driver has nothing to do on the roads of Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

During these May days, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol took special control over drunk drivers.

According to statistics, during the holidays the number of road accidents caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol increases, and there is also an increase in accidents involving children and adolescents. In this regard, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminds us of the need to comply with traffic rules and safety measures, as well as the mandatory use of child restraints when transporting children in the car.noted the traffic police.

Road checks are carried out regularly and daily.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds:

In accordance with administrative legislation, for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, the driver faces a fine of 30 thousand rubles and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years. A citizen’s refusal to be examined for this condition is also not a salvation: the violator will lose his driver’s license and face a serious fine.

If a drunk driver is detained a second time, or he repeatedly refuses a medical examination, the citizen faces not administrative, but criminal punishment. The amount of the fine in this case is 200-300 thousand rubles, and compulsory work for up to 480 hours or forced labor for up to 2 years are also used as punishment. In addition to the above measures, a drunk driver will face imprisonment for up to 2 years.
