Potato Field Day held in Crimea

The Day of the Potato Field was held in the Crimea (in the Soviet district). This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Migal. As part of the event, a seminar was held and the achievements of domestic selection of potatoes and vegetable crops were demonstrated.

Cultivation of potatoes and vegetables in the Crimea is one of the priorities of the agro-industrial complex of the republic. In the context of the implementation of the state program on import substitution and food security, the results of scientific and achievements of domestic breeders will help our farmers get a highly productive crop, as well as increase the planting area of ​​these crops , — said Yuri Migal.

Within the framework of the forum, scientists and specialists of the campaign, which is engaged in breeding and seed production and the production of seeds of potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and other vegetable crops, told the Crimean farmers about the benefits of the obtained varieties of these crops, as well as about advanced technologies for growing, planting and harvesting. In addition, samples obtained by selection were demonstrated, after which all participants visited the experimental fields.
