A minor accident led to a stabbing. Court verdict in Kerch

The Leninsky District Court of the Republic of Crimea passed a sentence on a previously convicted 64-year-old resident in Kerch for committing a crime under paragraph “h” part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code RF (that is, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, dangerous to human life, committed with the use of an object used as a weapon)

During the trial, it was established that in mid-July 2022 the defendant, the victim and their friend came to rest on the shores of the Sea of ​​​​Azov in the village. Nizhnezamorskoye, Leninsky district, set up tents there, prepared food and drank alcohol. Closer to 18 hours, the defendant went to sleep in his tent, but his tipsy comrade passed him, who lost his balance for a while and fell on the defendant’s tent, from which the latter ran out of the tent and between them a verbal skirmish began, at some point the defendant grabbed a kitchen knife that was lying near the tent and stabbed the man in the back, from which the latter received a single stab wound to the back of the chest. Realizing what had happened, the defendant asked his comrade to take the victim to the hospital, and he himself began to call the police on duty in order to report the crime , the press service of the court reported.

At the hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt and repented.

The court, having comprehensively studied the materials of the case, taking into account the circumstances of the commission of the crime, information about the identity of the citizen, sentenced the defendant to 3 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
