A resident of Sevastopol will stand trial on charges of robbery and murder of a pensioner

According to the Investigative Committee, the investigation of a criminal case against a 41-year-old resident of Sevastopol, who is accused of robbery with the use of items used as weapons, illegal entry into a dwelling with causing grievous bodily harm to the victim, has been completed; the murder of a person who is obviously in a helpless state associated with robbery (clause “c”, part 4, article 162, clauses “c”, “h”, part 2, article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Gagarinsky district of the city of Sevastopol established the following. An unemployed man decided to commit a robbery attack on an 81-year-old acquaintance, to whom he entered the house. Previously, his mother and wife worked as nurses for a pensioner, and he had information about her wealth. Late in the evening of February 15, 2022, being in a state of intoxication, he entered her apartment on the 1st floor of a house on Eroshenko Street, struck multiple blows on the head with a hammer. The attacker stole 200 thousand rubles, a watch and gold earrings from the apartment, having fled the scene of the crime— reported in the Investigative Committee.
It is specified that the brutal murder was solved in the shortest possible time in cooperation with the operational officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Gagarinsky district of the city of Sevastopol, and the suspect who committed it was identified. The man was detained after selling valuables stolen from the apartment.
As part of the investigation, all the necessary investigative actions and examinations were carried out, which confirmed the involvement of the man in a particularly serious crime.
At present, the investigation of the criminal case has been completed, the investigator of the investigative department for the Gagarinsky district has collected a strong evidence base. The criminal case was sent to the prosecutor for the purpose of studying, signing the indictment and sending the case to court.
