A resident of Yalta ordered drugs on the Internet and thought it was normal

The parcel arrived, but with it — and big trouble.

The Yalta police received operational information about the possible involvement of a 24-year-old local resident in the possession of drugs. During an authorized search of the suspect’s residence, the police found and seized one plastic bag containing a white powdery substance. As the girls explained, the prohibited substance is a narcotic drug, which she acquired in a contactless way via the Internet and kept for personal use.

The discovered samples were sent for research. According to the results of the examination, it was established that the seized substance is the narcotic drug «mephedrone» with a total weight of 124.3 grams

The investigator of the police department No. 3 «Massandrovsky» of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on a large scale”). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to ten years.— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
