Crimean Deputy Prime Minister Georgy Muradov spoke at the Second Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov spoke at the Second Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow. In connection with the need to apply a new look at the concept of interregional Eurasian cooperation, he noted that in the current conditions the role of interregional entities is increasing and suggested considering the possibility of creating large intercountry Eurasian regions of the EAEU countries.
According to experts, in essence, the Eurasian regions could be economic-territorial formations that contribute to security, stability and indestructible unity along the border space of Russia and neighboring states. In fact, we could talk about the creation of joint cross-border territorial production complexes.
The Crimean Deputy Prime Minister drew the attention of the forum participants to the growing role of Crimean ports as the Southern Sea Gates of the EAEU in the delivery of goods from the Union Member States to friendly countries of the Middle East, North Africa and even Latin America. The ports of Kerch and Feodosia, Evpatoria and Sevastopol could become hubs for the export and import of various cargoes and ports for ships of all, including non-coastal countries, multiplying the volume of foreign trade operations of the EAEU member states.
According to Georgy Muradov, the Crimea is ready to become for the members of the Union and the base for catching and processing Atlantic fish, as it always was in Soviet times, ready to create a joint fishing fleet with them.
We are ready to actively participate in your forums, exhibitions, send our business missions to you, establish interregional ties, as we do with Belarus and Armenia. It remains only to overcome the resistance of some officials who are not in this hall, who prevent our participation in forums and exhibitions, and who are ready to implement illegitimate and hostile Western sanctions— Georgy Muradov emphasized in his speech.
Obvious in the current conditions is the refusal to maintain foreign economic statistics of the EAEU in dollars and the formation of the Association of Free Economic Zones of the Union.
We are also well aware that it is possible to resist this (pressure from Western countries) only through the unity and consolidation of not only our countries, but also the regions that make them up, where multiple languages, confessions and traditions are respected. Crimea is a prime example of this policy and sincerely offers its unique opportunities to all EAEU countries. This uniqueness is obvious to everyone— said the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea from the high rostrum of the forum.
