Evening accident in the Nizhnegorsk region of Crimea: a drunk driver knocked down a family — two adults and three children

The violator was taken into custody, a criminal case was initiated.

March 18, at 21:10 in the village of Emelyanovka (in the Nizhnegorsk region of Crimea) there was an accident in which 5 people were injured, including three children. The drunk driver on the «Zhiguli» did not notice the family with the stroller and knocked people down like skittles.

On st. Central 54-year-old driver, driving a VAZ 2107, allowed a collision with five pedestrians who were moving along the edge of the carriageway. As a result of the accident, pedestrians were injured, including parents and three young children, all were taken to the hospital. According to preliminary data, the driver was driving the vehicle while intoxicated. Currently, the traffic police are investigating all the circumstances of the accident.— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.

The prosecutor’s office is also investigating the circumstances of this accident.

In the course of organized supervisory activities, all the circumstances of the incident will be established, an assessment will be made of the implementation of legislation in the field of road safety. The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhnegorsky district initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing grievous bodily harm by a driver who is in a state of intoxication), the investigation of the criminal case is ongoing— specified in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
