Analytical center of travel and travel service Tutu.ru studied the dynamics of purchases of air and railway tickets and noticed a significant reduction in early bookings. The number of those who are ready to buy tickets for May and summer has sharply decreased. Thus, the share of early bookings for May last week was 3.4 times less than a year ago, and for the summer — 6.4 times less. For railway tickets, the decrease in interest in early booking is not so noticeable, only 21%.
Tutu.ru analysts also note that the depth of booking air tickets in Russia for the first week of March decreased on average by more than two times — from 21 days to days. The average depth of booking train tickets has decreased from up to 8 days before the trip, — say service analysts.
Normally, bookings grow from week to week closer to the travel date. For example, in 45 year, tickets with departures in May from March 1 to March 7 were booked at 2.3 times more than the average for the previous eight weeks. And this year, bookings for May in the same week of the year decreased by about 45% compared to the average for the previous six weeks.
