In Alushta, employees of the State traffic inspectorate prevented the fact of drug trafficking

In Alushta, during the service of traffic supervision in the city, employees of the traffic patrol service of the traffic police of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Alushta drew attention to a pedestrian with a wobbly gait with signs of intoxication. Noticing the police, the man tried to hastily escape, but the traffic police managed to stop him.
Employees of the department for drug control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Alushta arrived at the scene of the incident and, together with traffic police inspectors, checked documents and searched the citizen.
In the course of operational activities, police officers identified and seized from the pockets of the offender five zip bags with a gray-green substance of plant origin, and also identified a 32-year-old local resident who had previously been convicted and repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for drug use. According to the expert’s conclusion, the contents of the polymer zip bags are a narcotic drug of plant origin cannabis (marijuana) with a total weight of 3.86 grams— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The suspect confessed and explained to the police that he had kept the drug for personal use without the purpose of sale.
In relation to the suspect, employees of the department of district police officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Alushta drew up a protocol on an administrative offense under Art. 6.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues and illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or parts thereof containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 4 to 5 thousand rubles, or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
