CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Bakhchisarai District Court of the Republic of Crimea considered a criminal case against a 20-year-old resident of Bakhchisarai, accused of acquiring, storing for use, and using a knowingly fake driver’s license. The guilty person was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of six months.
The materials of the criminal case established that at the end of 2021, the young man saw on the Internet an advertisement that interested him about the possibility of acquiring a driver’s license without undergoing appropriate training. Through the Internet, the defendant turned to an unidentified person with a request to make a driver’s license for him. After discussing all the details, the guy provided his personal data and a photo, while transferring money for the «service» provided. Some time later, the defendant received a fake driver’s license by mail, which he kept for about a year in order to use— noted in the press service of the court.
At the end of December 2022, a young man was stopped by the traffic police while driving a vehicle, while checking documents he presented a driver’s license, the authenticity of which was doubted by the traffic police.
The illegitimacy of the document was confirmed by the expert’s conclusion.
The defendant fully admitted his guilt and sincerely repented.
The court concluded that the actions of the defendant under Part 3 of Art. 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as the acquisition, storage for the purpose of use, as well as the use of a knowingly fake certificate granting rights, are correctly qualified. The convict is subject to such restrictions as: not to change the place of residence or stay, not to travel outside the Bakhchisarai district without the consent of a specialized state body, and also to appear monthly for registration with the penitentiary inspection.
The verdict has not entered into force.
