In Crimea, a resident of Simferopol was sentenced to 14 years in prison for committing a number of crimes against a minor.
The Kyiv District Court of Simferopol issued a verdict in a criminal case against a resident of the region. Based on the evidence presented by the prosecutor’s office, he was found guilty of committing crimes under paragraph «a» part 3 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rape), paragraph «a» part 3 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (other acts of a sexual nature), part 1 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberate destruction of another’s property)— reported in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
The court found that at the end of May 2022, the defendant, while near one of the apartment buildings in Simferopol, committed sexual crimes against a minor born in 2007. After that, in order for the teenager not to report the crimes committed to law enforcement agencies, he broke her mobile phone.
The court, taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the defendant to 14 years in prison to be served in a penal colony with a further restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and 6 months. The verdict has not entered into force.
