In Gurzuf, Chekhov's dacha reopened «Library by the Sea»

The most picturesque library of Crimea will be available to visitors until October 31.

Dacha A.P. Chekhov and O.L. Knipper in Gurzuf, which is part of the Crimean Literary and Artistic Memorial Museum-Reserve, has resumed the work of a small library, a feature of which is an open-air reading room.

Every visitor museum with an entrance ticket, you can choose any of your favorite books and enjoy reading at Chekhov’s dacha overlooking the sea. The most picturesque library of Crimea will be available to visitors until October 31. On the bookshelf you can find not only the works of Anton Chekhov, but also other authors— said the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

The first readers on the opening day were the guests of the museum and the participants of the teleconference from the Moscow region — the Domodedovo rural library. They were presented with a reading room by the sea online and had a virtual tour of Chekhov’s dacha. Also on this day, everyone could listen to a lecture by a researcher on the celebration of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture.

In addition, on May 27, a number of events will be held at the museum as part of the All-Russian action «Library Night». For those who missed the opening of the library, a re-presentation of this museum project will be held, as well as guests will be able to admire the vernissage of children’s drawings based on the works of Russian classics and visit the lecture hall «Antique Controversion in Modern Russian Speech», which will be held at 13:00.
