In Sevastopol, the police are investigating a criminal case on drug trafficking

In Sevastopol, a preliminary investigation is underway into a criminal case on the sale of marijuana and attempts to sell it on a large scale in the city. According to investigators, a 52-year-old local specialist in the installation of stretch ceilings, for the purpose of illegally earning money, acquired a large consignment of marijuana in the shadow segment of the Internet for subsequent retail sales.

Continuing to realize his intent, the man, using electronic scales and packaging material, packed the drugs into single doses, and kept the rest of the illegal goods in his apartment in bags and polymer cans, as well as in a specially equipped hiding place on the street.

At the time of the arrest of the drug dealer by the police, he had a polymer bag with marijuana, which he took from the cache for packaging and sale , — said the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

During a search of the suspect’s home, officers of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol seized 117 packages of marijuana, two polymer cans and three packages with the same drug, high-precision electronic scales and packaging materials. In addition, police officers found a growing cannabis bush and equipment for its cultivation in the drug dealer’s apartment. The man said that he grew a drug-containing plant in order to make marijuana for personal use.

The total mass of drugs seized by the police from illegal circulation amounted to more than 800 grams.

At present, investigators have established the involvement of the person involved in at least four facts of illegal sale of drugs and attempts to sell marijuana on a large scale. A criminal case was initiated against the person involved under Part 3 of Art. p. «d» part 4 and p. «b» part 3 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as well as Part 1 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation , — specified in the Sevastopol police.

The maximum sanction of the incriminated article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 20 years.
