In Simferopol, the walls of high-rise buildings were decorated with murals with views of the Crimea

The walls of Simferopol high-rise buildings on Lermontov Street were decorated with picturesque murals. And this is a consequence not only of the initiative of active artists, but also of grant support from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The author and head of the project «Building facades — the territory of pride» Alexander Maslivets told that to realize the first sketch (with the Swallow’s Nest and flying falcon) into life was not an easy task. At first, the artists did not want to take on the work, since before that there were no such large-scale projects in the Crimea. The artist Ekaterina Tarapata responded, who dreamed of painting just such huge murals. By the way, the height of the “panel canvas” is 30 meters. There is already a second large-scale panel — with the image of the Golden Gate of Kara-Dag.

The project is planned to be expanded — an application for painting another ten houses has already been submitted. There is an understanding of what will be depicted on them , — notes Maslivets.

Portraits of historical figures may appear on some houses in Simferopol, other buildings will be decorated with sights of the peninsula or symbols of the Crimean capital.
