Investigative Committee on the fire in Sevastopol. 8 people died in the fire, a criminal case was initiated

Fresh information by this hour — a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the death of people.

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol initiated a criminal case on the fact of causing death by negligence to two or more persons (part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

It has been preliminary established that today at three o’clock in the morning the operational services received a message from eyewitnesses about a fire on Neftyanaya Street in the village of Sugar Loaf of the Balaklava District of the building module, in which more than 100 workers. The fire was localized by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Currently, a group of investigators and forensic investigators is working on the spot, headed by the head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol V. N. Terentyev.

During the analysis of the rubble and the inspection of the scene, the number of injured and dead will be specified , the Investigative Committee reported.
