Military helicopter Mi-28 crashed during a training flight in the Crimea. This was stated in the Russian Defense Ministry. The pilots died. According to the military department, the tragedy happened in the Dzhankoy region.
On May 12, 2023, at 15:42 (Moscow time), a Mi-28 helicopter crashed while performing a planned training flight in the Dzhankoy district of the Republic of Crimea. The flight was carried out without ammunition. There is no destruction on earth. Both pilots died— in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The preliminary cause of the crash is a technical failure. A commission of the main command of the Aerospace Forces of Russia was sent to the accident site to clarify all the causes and circumstances of the accident.
The Mi-28N (Izdeliye 294, Night Hunter, NATO designation Havoc-B) is a Russian attack helicopter. Developed in the 1990s by the designers of the Moscow Helicopter Plant named after M. L. Mil (now part of the Russian Helicopters holding). It is a round-the-clock modification of the Soviet Mi-28 attack helicopter, created in the 1980s, but never put into service.
