The regional authorities emphasize that the overhaul of the square on Lenin Boulevard in Simferopol is one of the main improvement tasks for this year. Positive changes in the center of the capital of Crimea become possible due to the implementation in the Republic of the regional project «Formation of a comfortable urban environment» of the national project «Housing and urban environment».
According to the project, the square should be recreated in its original form. Currently, work at the facility is in full swing, large-scale landscaping and restoration of the facility is underway. The pouring of the parapets is already being completed, the dismantling work has been completed, over 2,000 square meters of paving slabs have been laid, curbs have been installed, and work on the laying of engineering networks continues.— said in the Main Directorate for the implementation of national projects.
It is planned to recreate the public area in the most original form: restore the fountain complex of five fountains, equip walking areas and recreation areas, install a new lighting and video surveillance system, a children’s play complex and carry out large-scale work to restore the fence. Evergreen compositions and ground cover plants will be selected for landscaping the territory, thanks to which the square will be “green” all year round. The amount of allocated funds for the work performed amounted to more than 130 million rubles.
Until recently, the square, which was founded back in 1922, was in a deplorable state, and earlier its entrance was decorated with a rotunda with lions, a pool with lions was located on the territory.
