Regiment of the National Guard in Sevastopol was awarded a new type of combat flag

Colonel-General Igor Turchenyuk, commander of the Southern District of the Russian Guard, solemnly presented the commander of a special motorized regiment of the Russian Guard with a battle flag.
The ceremony was attended by the head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Lieutenant-General Stepan Gaydarzhisky, the deputy head of the Main Directorate — the head of the UKDP of the Russian Guard for the city of Sevastopol, police colonel Vladimir Sobolev, commanders of OMON, SOBR.
Member of the legislative assembly of Sevastopol, head of the regional branch of the All-Russian public organization «Combat Brotherhood» Vasily Zubenko, participant of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Latokha, as well as veterans of the units congratulated the National Guard on this memorable event for the personnel of the regiment.
The battle banner is the official symbol and relic of a military unit. It serves as a reminder of the traditions and sacred duty of the defender of the Fatherland, personifies his valor, honor, courage, glory and military traditions. It is important to note that the Sevastopol regiment has a long history, in which the names of the heroes who defended the Motherland in different years are forever inscribed, and active servicemen can be proud of it.— said Colonel-General Igor Turchenyuk in his address to the participants of the ceremony.
The commander of the Southern District of the Russian Guard thanked the personnel for their loyalty to military traditions, the results achieved in service and combat activities and handed over to the regiment commander the Letter to the Battle Banner, signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Stepanovich Latokha expressed his gratitude to the servicemen for their participation in ensuring law and order in the hero city, for the calmness of its residents and guests.
The battle banner of the previous model will go to the museum for storage, and the new relic will take its place at post No. 1 under round-the-clock security.
