There is no need to be afraid of the Crimean Mountains, but caution is a must!
In Crimea — spring warm weather. Mountain tour routes are becoming more and more attractive for outdoor enthusiasts. It is important to remember that for unprepared travelers, mountain trails can carry a lot of dangers.
Among the hiking trails, one of the most interesting and visited on the peninsula is the Grand Canyon of Crimea. Behind the beauty of its waterfalls and incredible views lies the main danger — a difficult path. Before planning your trip, you need to familiarize yourself with the terrain of the route. Unprepared people often do not understand how to navigate and can go completely the other way. Only since the beginning of this year, rescuers have provided assistance in this area 5 times.
Another favorite place for tourists is Mount Boyko. On one of the peaks there is a large observation deck, which offers a breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon, the Syuyuryu-Kaya rock, the Small Canyon and Mount Sedam-Kaya. This is where travelers seek beautiful photographs. However, it is very easy to get lost in this place. There are no well-trodden paths here, and for most of the route there are no trail markings.
Since the beginning of this year, we have provided assistance on Mount Boyko 8 times. Citizens choose a route in the navigator, go deep into the forest, but there is no connection, and the navigator no longer works. Therefore, if you are going somewhere in the mountains, then download a special program with maps to understand where you are. If you have planned a trip with a child, you should ensure the safety of him and yourself as much as possible. First of all, adults should have independent experience of hiking. In addition, you should only go to the mountains or the forest with children in those places where you have already been. And if you are going on a route for the first time, try to take with you an experienced tourist who knows the area exactly and knows how to navigate well in natural conditions.
But the most important recommendation for parents is to take care of your child and not let go anywhere alone. Therefore, preparation for any trip with children should always be very thorough. This applies to both clothing and equipment. And always remember: Your safety is your responsibility.— the head of the 2nd search and rescue department of the mountain search and rescue unit of the Specialized Detachment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea Yevgeny Krupin gave advice to tourists.
The Crimean rescuer gave recommendations on how not to spoil the planned weekend and spend time safely.
Being in the city, with the help of the Internet, you can always easily find out where you are. But on a hike, there are situations when a person finds himself in an unknown place without gadgets that will help determine his location. It should be borne in mind that even on previously traveled routes, the probability of getting lost remains. This risk is higher in winter, when a thick layer of snow makes it impossible to determine the position, or in the evening, at twilight, when visibility is poor. Therefore, before going to the mountains or the forest, a tourist needs to register his route in Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea. And also tell relatives and friends the place and time of the trip. This, in case of unforeseen circumstances, will provide a person with prompt rescue.— Evgeny Krupin emphasized.
And further life hacks from the Ministry of Emergency Situations: when going on a trip, a tourist needs to have a charged phone with him, preferably with an additional battery and navigation. Be sure to have enough water, shoes and clothes suitable for the area where he is going. At the same time, one must always remember that if a person went on a hike without water, the result of such a walk can be sunstroke, dehydration and loss of consciousness.
Since the beginning of the year, 72 tourist groups have been registered on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. All of them ended successfully, without incident, leaving only pleasant impressions and unforgettable emotions from the breathtaking views of the Crimean mountains.
