Employees of the Sevastopol traffic police continue to ensure safety at pedestrian crossings. During the preventive measure «Pedestrian crossing», traffic inspectors identified 10 drivers who did not provide an advantage in traffic to pedestrians in accordance with article 12.18. Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The fine for this violation is from 1.5 to 2.5 thousand rubles. Also, as part of the raid, pedestrians were identified among the violators of traffic rules, which in turn entails a warning or a fine in the amount of five hundred rubles.
During 4 months of the current year, there was 51 an accident associated with collisions with pedestrians, in which 3 people died and 48 received injuries of varying severity . At unregulated pedestrian crossings for the same period there were 20 collisions with pedestrians, in which 2 people were killed and 18 injured , — reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Sevastopol.
Law enforcement officers remind that in accordance with clause 14.1 of the SDA, the driver of a vehicle approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing is obliged to slow down or stop before the crossing in order to let pass pedestrians crossing the carriageway or stepping on it to make the transition.
