The winners of the volleyball tournament among the teams of hero cities were determined in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Sevastopol hosted an annual volleyball tournament among the teams of hero cities, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The ceremonial closing of the competition took place on the basis of a new sports and recreation complex on Shevchenko Street.

For the first time, a volleyball tournament among the teams of hero cities, dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was held in 2021. It was our joint idea: together with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation, Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev, we decided to establish its annual, traditional holding. We tried to do everything to make the participants of the tournament feel comfortable and able to spend time usefully. Children’s teams attended excursions on the 35th coastal battery, visited Tauric Chersonesos and got acquainted with the main sights of our city. This year, among all categories, the victory was taken by the teams of the Hero City of Sevastopol. Congratulations Sevastopol! Well, for everyone else, this is an additional incentive to come back to the tournament next year and take revenge— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the governor of the city Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Among the girls, the first place was won by the team of Sevastopol (first), the second place — representatives of Sevastopol (second), the third place — the team of Volgograd.

Among the boys, the first place was won by the team of Sevastopol, the second place — by the representatives of Volgograd, the third place — by the team of the Lugansk People’s Republic.

Among the veterans, the first place was won by the team of Sevastopol, the second place — by Novorossiysk, the third place — by the team of Volgograd.

The competitions were held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. For three days we fought against strong opponents and enjoyed the game very much. Many thanks to the organizers for the competition, as well as for the cultural program— says Pavel Khaletsky, a member of the Lugansk People’s Republic team.

This year, more than 150 athletes from the hero cities of Novorossiysk, Sevastopol, St. Petersburg, Volgograd and four new regions of the Russian Federation — the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions took part in the competition.
