Two rescue operations on the Crimean plateau Karabi-Yayla

Over the weekend, employees of the Belogorsk emergency rescue team «KRYM-SPAS» were twice involved in search operations on the Karabi-Yayla plateau.

On May 7, at 12:45 p.m., the control panel of the operational duty officer of the GKU RK «KRYM-SPAS» received a signal that the woman had lost her bearings on the Karabi-Yayla plateau (Belogorsk district), she could not go to the car of her relatives on her own. The help of rescuers is needed… Upon arrival at the plateau, they began to search. Rescuers of the GKU RK «KRYM-SPAS» examined more than 2 square kilometers of mountain and forest terrain. As a result, after 1 hour 10 minutes, the victim was found in a forest near the village. Pchelinoye (Belogorsky district). She did not need medical attention. Was delivered to relatives’ car— said the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.

As it turned out, the woman, along with her family, went to pick mushrooms, because of the thick fog she lost her bearings on the ground. A preventive conversation was also held with the victim about the rules of conduct in the mountain-forest zone of the peninsula.

Later, at 16:50, the rescue team also received information that a Niva car broke down on the Karabi-Yayla plateau in fog on a steep slope. Cannot leave on its own. There are three people in the car. In conditions of fog, the victims lost their bearings on the ground and cannot independently go to the settlement. Rescuers «KRYM-SPAS» with the help of a winch evacuated the car to a safe place. The driver and passengers were taken by a company car to the village. Nobody needed medical attention.
