Urban planning competition for new buildings: applications for the TOP LCD-2023 summer award have begun

In 2023, developers can take part in the TOP LCD summer urban planning competition for new buildings. Applications will start on May 10th and will end on June 30th. The results will be summed up as part of the celebration of the Builder’s Day in August. The organizers of the award, in dialogue with representatives of the professional community, identified 12 nominations:

The best landscaping and landscape design of the territory of the residential complex
Best yard master plan
The best MAF and art objects of the yard space
The best children’s area of the yard space
The best conditions for sports
The best entrance group and entrance in economy class houses
The best entrance group and entrance in comfort-class houses
The best entrance group and entrance in business class houses and above
The best apartment terrace on the ground floor
The best underground parking
The best architectural facade lighting
The best pedestrian street from the developer inside the residential complex

Applying for participation

Applications from developers are accepted from May 10 to June 30, 2023. To participate in the competition, you must fill out a questionnaire and be sure to attach presentations that must meet the established requirements for registration. Residential complexes from developers from all over Russia are allowed.

Criteria for evaluating nominees

Evaluation criteria have been approved for each nomination. Among them are the arrangement of pedestrian and bicycle paths, landscaping, the beauty and originality of landscape design, safety, freedom from cars, and others.

Compliance with the criteria must be confirmed by the description and photographs in the presentation. When using design images (renders), a reduction factor of 10% is applied. Therefore, it is recommended to attach live photos.

Requirements for nominees

Participation of a residential complex in several nominations is allowed, as well as participation of several residential complexes of one developer in one nomination.

Residential complexes with negative factors (suspension of the construction of the facility, bankruptcy of the developer, numerous postponements of commissioning dates, etc.), as well as projects that won in the same nomination in previous years, are not allowed to compete.

Project evaluation

Projects will be evaluated by experts independent of developers, recommended by non-profit associations of builders, designers, developers.

Definition of winners

The jury will meet in early August. Winners will be determined based on the combined assessments of experts.

The announcement and awarding of the winners is planned as part of the celebration of the Builder’s Day-2023.

The TOP LCD summer competition is part of the All-Russian TOP LCD award and is designed to identify the best practices for individual elements of residential complexes (yard space, landscaping and landscape design, creating conditions for sports, etc.).

The TOP LCD award is the largest competition in Russia for residential complexes-new buildings. Finalists, prize-winners and winners are determined in 144 nominations. More than 1,000 projects from 700-800 developers take part in the competition. The competition starts annually in October-November. The announcement and awarding of the winners is held in March as part of the Russian Construction Week.

More than 400 experts from 52 regions of Russia participate in the evaluation of new residential complexes. The assessment of each residential complex is carried out according to 133 parameters, combined into 8 groups, including the complexity of development, provision of infrastructure, architecture, yard and parking spaces, smart home and much more. Most of the parameters for evaluating residential complexes are taken from the Standard for the Integrated Development of Territories, developed by the Ministry of Construction of Russia and DOM.RF.

The TOP LCD award was jointly established in 2019 by the National Association of Housing Developers (NOZA) and the relevant committees of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
